In the battleground of Virginia, the political titans clash once more: President Biden and former President Trump, deadlocked in a contest that defies expectations and reveals the shifting landscape of American politics.
In Virginia, a once staunchly blue state, current President Biden and former President Trump are in a deadlock, as revealed by a recent poll. The survey, conducted by Fox News among registered Virginia voters, unveiled that both candidates stand at an even 48 percent.
This parity is striking, given Biden's significant victory in the state during the 2020 elections, where he secured over 10 points more than Trump—claiming 54.1 percent of the vote compared to Trump's 44 percent.
Delving into the demographics, the recent poll highlights Biden's stronghold among certain groups, with 73 percent of Black voters, 58 percent of suburban women, and 56 percent of college-educated voters rallying behind him. Conversely, Trump garners significant backing from 80 percent of white evangelical Christians, 63 percent of rural voters, 56 percent of voters without a college degree, and 54 percent of white voters.
Interestingly, both candidates appear to have equal footing across different generations, each earning 48 percent among voters under 30 and those over 65. However, there's a slight edge for Biden among independents, who favor him at 45 percent compared to Trump's 43 percent.
Moreover, the survey underscores a gender divide, with men showing a higher inclination towards Trump compared to women.
