We Will "Lose Everything" Dems Panic

"Lose everything."

These were the stark words from a recent memo by esteemed Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg, warning President Joe Biden's inner circle of a potential electoral disaster that could reverberate throughout the entire party.

Calls for President Joe Biden to exit the presidential race have subsided publicly among Democrats, but behind the scenes, efforts to persuade him and his top aides persist, several Democratic sources revealed to CNN.

One significant effort includes repeated memos from respected Democratic pollster Stanley Greenberg. These memos convey Greenberg's belief that Biden is on course to lose the election, potentially causing significant harm to other Democratic candidates.

“Lose everything,” is how one Democrat described a recent memo from Greenberg to Biden's inner circle. Another Democrat, close to the White House and familiar with the memos, simply called them “devastating.”

Sources mentioned that Greenberg has sent multiple memos over the past two weeks since Biden's poor debate performance, analyzing internal polling that suggests Americans overwhelmingly doubt Biden's ability to serve another four years.

Greenberg, a veteran Democratic pollster who advised Bill Clinton's successful presidential campaigns, declined to comment when contacted on Monday.

Several Democratic members of Congress are also lobbying privately, urging Biden's top advisers to consider the potential damage to Biden's legacy if he loses the White House and Republicans retain the House and gain the Senate majority.

One Democratic lawmaker told CNN that some of Biden's aides understand the gravity of the situation but believe it can be turned around. They also describe the president as firmly believing he can win. In an NBC News interview on Monday, Biden reiterated that he has no intention of stepping aside.

The lawmaker suggested that making further public calls for Biden to step aside now would be counterproductive, given the need for a unified party response to the Republican convention and Biden's repeated public statements about staying in the race.

However, the lawmaker predicted this approach might change if post-convention polling and other data show Biden's position worsening.
