Trump Takes Lead In New Hampshire

In a shocking shift, Donald Trump has pulled ahead in New Hampshire, a state Republicans haven’t won since 2000, now edging out Kamala Harris by a razor-thin margin.

In a surprise shift, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump now leads Democrat Kamala Harris in New Hampshire—a state that hasn't backed a Republican in 24 years. The NH Journal reports Trump holds a narrow lead, 50.2% to Harris’s 49.8%, a turnaround from Friday polling that had Harris three points ahead. The last time New Hampshire voted Republican was for George W. Bush in 2000.

Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign and a New Hampshire native, pointed to Harris's recent ad spending in the state as evidence she’s “on defense,” saying Trump’s path to victory is clearer than ever. She urged Granite Staters to support Trump, claiming Harris’s policies would harm New Hampshire’s business-friendly and free-market reputation.

Adding to the GOP's momentum, Republican Kelly Ayotte also leads her opponent, Democrat Joyce Craig, in the governor's race, holding a 51.9% to 48.1% advantage. The race is tight, with both contests reflecting a shift in voter priorities toward economic concerns and cultural issues, like gender in sports, which 54% of New Hampshire voters oppose.

Nationally, Trump has a slight edge over Harris, with a recent Wall Street Journal poll showing him ahead 47% to 45%. Harris’s favorability has declined, with her approval rating as vice president dropping to 42%—a potential obstacle in her uphill battle for the White House.
