Scarborough Attacks NBC News

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough fiercely rebuked NBC's Lester Holt for questioning President Biden's "bullseye" remark, amid escalating tensions following an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough lashed out at NBC News' Lester Holt on Tuesday for questioning President Joe Biden about his "bullseye" remark during an interview.

Biden had called for former President Donald Trump to be put in the "bullseye" during a phone call a week before an attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania. In his interview with Holt, Biden admitted that using the word "bullseye" was a "mistake" and clarified it meant focusing on Trump.

Scarborough criticized Holt for asking the question "without any context" of the politically violent rhetoric that Republicans have engaged in for nearly a decade.

"But to ask that question without any context about the politically violent rhetoric that Republicans have been engaged in for close to a decade now," Scarborough said. "I must say, I was shocked."

Scarborough’s criticism comes after he was taken off the air, reportedly due to network concerns about the rhetoric on his show, Morning Joe.

The controversy follows an incident at a Trump rally where 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from a nearby rooftop, wounding Trump in the ear and killing a father of two before being taken down by a Secret Service sniper.
