Report: President Biden’s $230M Taxpayer-Funded Gaza Pier to Be Dismantled Permanently

Updated: Jul 13

Top Points:

  1. Costly and Inefficient Project: President Joe Biden’s $230 million taxpayer-funded Gaza pier is set to be permanently dismantled after only three weeks of usage, highlighting significant mismanagement and waste of resources.

  2. Repeated Failures and Repairs: Despite its intended purpose to deliver aid to Palestinians in Gaza, the pier repeatedly broke apart and required multiple repairs, with the Biden administration attributing its failures to unexpected weather conditions.

  3. Misleading Optimism from Administration: The Biden administration, including Pentagon Press Secretary Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, maintained an optimistic stance on the pier’s performance, despite its documented inefficiencies and eventual dismantling, further eroding trust in their competence.

Full Report:

In yet another display of President Joe Biden's misguided policies, the $230 million taxpayer-funded Gaza pier, hastily announced during his State of the Union address, is set to be dismantled permanently after a mere three weeks of questionable service.

Anonymous U.S. officials informed the Associated Press that the pier, built under Biden's directive and manned by over 1,000 U.S. troops, will cease operations after a few more days. The initiative, unveiled with great fanfare on March 7, quickly turned into a fiasco, with the pier opening on May 16 and breaking apart just nine days later.

The pier was meant to deliver aid to Palestinians in Gaza but faced numerous setbacks, being removed for repairs multiple times since its initial installation. Despite the administration's attempts to blame the pier's failures on unexpected weather, Breitbart News reported that the Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS) system was not designed for conditions with waves over four feet. Exclusive video footage from Breitbart showed the pier being relentlessly battered by waves.

The Associated Press reported that while the pier will be reinstalled temporarily to clear a backlog of aid, it will be dismantled permanently shortly thereafter. Although 19.4 million pounds of food have reportedly crossed into Gaza via the pier, the actual amount reaching the Palestinians remains unclear. To put this in perspective, the Guardian noted that this amount equates to just a single day’s worth of deliveries before the conflict began.

As recently as July 2, Biden’s Pentagon Press Secretary, Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, praised the pier’s performance, claiming, "The pier is great." However, his optimism starkly contrasts with the pier's actual track record of repeated failures and inefficiency.

This latest blunder underscores the Biden administration’s pattern of impractical and costly decisions, further eroding trust in their capability to manage critical international aid projects.
