Police In Colorado Fight Back

Aurora police have identified ten members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, linking them to a string of violent crimes in the city’s migrant community, as concerns grow over the gang's expanding presence in the U.S.

Aurora, Colorado, police are continuing to release details on members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) and their alleged involvement in criminal activities within the city. Authorities recently identified ten documented gang members and outlined a range of violent crimes, including shootings and assaults, connected to the gang.

According to the Aurora Police Department, TdA members have been living in local apartments and committing violent acts, particularly targeting the migrant community. The suspects include individuals like Larry Medina, who was arrested for felony menacing after threatening to kill a resident at Whispering Pines Condominiums, and Jhonardy Pacheco-Chirinos, involved in a shooting at Fitzsimons Place Apartments. Many of the suspects have long criminal records, and some remain in custody as investigations continue.

The police also revealed connections between TdA members and violent incidents in other states. Aurora’s City Council has expressed concern over the gang’s rise, while Colorado Governor Jared Polis dismissed the claims, calling them exaggerated.

The case underscores growing fears about the spread of international criminal organizations like TdA, as law enforcement in Aurora and other cities work to curtail their influence.
