Ohio Mom Killed Trying to Save Son in Car Jacking

A mother's desperate attempt to save her son from a stolen SUV in Ohio ends in tragedy, as she loses her life while trying to stop the fleeing vehicle.

A mother has tragically died after attempting to save her son who was inside a stolen SUV in Ohio.

Columbus Police reported that the incident occurred at a condominium complex just before 1:30 a.m.

The mother was picking up her six-year-old son from a babysitter and placed the sleeping child inside her Honda CR-V, according to news partner WBNS in Columbus.

While she returned to the babysitter's home to retrieve something, a suspect entered the SUV and began driving away, WBNS reported.

Desperate to save her son, the mother jumped onto the hood of the vehicle and tried to stop it.

The suspect drove erratically throughout the complex, eventually throwing her off the hood. Police say the suspect then exited the vehicle and fled the scene, as reported by NBC4 in Columbus.

Fortunately, the boy was found inside the SUV, still sleeping and unharmed, WBNS said.
