Schlapp attributed this voter apathy to the deep connection former President Donald Trump has forged with everyday Americans, a bond he believes is unmatched by Harris or her fellow Democrats.
According to Schlapp, Trump’s appeal to the “forgotten men and women” across America has created a stark divide between the Republican base and what he described as a “disconnected elite” within the Democratic Party. Schlapp argued that Trump has uniquely positioned himself as a champion for those who feel sidelined by Washington’s traditional political establishment, including working-class citizens and those impacted by inflation, rising crime, and what he calls “unchecked” border issues.
Citing recent polls and reports, Schlapp noted that Nevada’s Democratic voter turnout remains notably low, particularly among working-class Hispanic voters and other communities who, he asserted, feel that Trump speaks to their daily struggles more directly than Harris.
