McFarland contended that an energy-independent America is one of the most effective means to counter China’s rising influence globally.
McFarland underscored that under the Trump administration, America achieved significant strides toward energy independence. "President Trump’s policies opened the floodgates for American energy production," McFarland said, referencing the former president’s initiatives to increase domestic oil and natural gas production, reduce dependence on foreign oil, and roll back regulatory restrictions on American energy companies.
