An illegal alien has been arrested in Kenner, Louisiana, accused of kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint, sparking outrage and a manhunt that ended with his capture in New Orleans East.
A 23-year-old illegal alien, Diego Rodriguez-Salvador, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in Kenner, Louisiana.
The Kenner Police Department launched a manhunt after the attack on Sept. 3 in the Veterans Heights neighborhood, not far from New Orleans International Airport. Rodriguez-Salvador was captured in New Orleans East and now faces charges of second-degree kidnapping and second-degree rape of a juvenile.
According to police, Rodriguez-Salvador allegedly abducted the girl, took her to a trailer, and raped her at knifepoint. The girl reported the incident to her parents, who immediately contacted authorities.
Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley revealed that Rodriguez-Salvador was known to the victim’s family. He expressed outrage over the crime, calling Rodriguez-Salvador a "coward" and noting the victim is now receiving counseling. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is also involved in the case.
Rodriguez-Salvador is currently being held in Jefferson Parish without bond.
