Escaping the Border's Watchful Eye: The Tale of an Undocumented Immigrant Accused of Unspeakable Crimes in Massachusetts.
An undocumented immigrant managed to evade detection by Border Patrol and entered the United States from Mexico, eventually landing in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts where he stands accused of raping a child.
Yader Alexander Morales-Quevedo, a 24-year-old from Guatemala, slipped through the border, becoming one of the many undocumented individuals whose entry goes unnoticed by federal authorities.
In August 2022, Morales-Quevedo faced charges of child rape in New Bedford District Court, which were later escalated to the Bristol County Superior Court.
In January 2023, he faced further charges in the Bristol County Superior Court, including child rape and offenses related to exploiting children.
On May 28, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended Morales-Quevedo. He remains in ICE custody while awaiting the resolution of the child rape allegations against him.
“Yader Alexander Morales-Quevedo will have his day in court, but the severity of the charges against him cannot be understated,” stated ICE official Todd Lyons. “His presence posed a grave danger to the children within our Massachusetts communities.”
Since President Joe Biden took office in early 2021, close to two million undocumented individuals have successfully crossed the southern border undetected.
