Diego Soch Castro found himself in custody in Alleghany County, Virginia, following allegations of abducting an underage girl from Louisiana and transporting her approximately a thousand miles away.
Charged with abduction, indecent liberties with a minor, and assault and battery, Castro's arrest shed light on a harrowing ordeal. The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office narrated the chilling events. At around 4:00 a.m., the girl managed to make a desperate call for help from a Love’s Travel Stop gas station.
Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies discovered the girl, alongside Castro, inside a sedan bearing Arkansas plates and registration. What unfolded next sent shockwaves through the community. Investigation revealed that the girl had been reported missing in Louisiana and was allegedly being held captive in Castro’s vehicle.
