Amid internal strife within the Democratic Party over President Joe Biden's candidacy, House Republicans are shifting their focus to Vice President Kamala Harris.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has unveiled a new digital ad targeting Harris for her unwavering support of Biden and her failures as the border czar.
"House Republicans are ready to pounce if extreme House Democrats abandon Joe Biden — or we'll make sure voters know Kamala is next in line if they don't," NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert declared in a statement accompanying the ad released on X Wednesday morning.
Many Democrats are urging the 81-year-old Biden to step down after his disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump on Thursday night.
Critics argue that Biden's cognitive decline was evident during the debate, proving he is unfit for another term.Harris is rumored to be a potential replacement if Biden withdraws from the race. The Democratic National Convention is scheduled for Aug. 19-22 in Chicago.
The NRCC ad features Harris praising Biden as "a fighter, a leader with skill, vision, determination, and compassion," juxtaposed with clips of Biden stumbling on the stairs of Air Force One, falling off a bicycle, being directed by first lady Jill Biden, and appearing to nod off.

The ad also accuses "House Democrats of being complicit," showcasing lawmakers like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., lauding Harris.
"She's very politically astute," Pelosi is heard saying.
"I look to her as a successor," Clyburn adds.
