Hillary Clinton and Ellen Barkin have launched a surprising attack on Madison Square Garden, calling for a boycott of the iconic venue after it hosted a packed rally for Donald Trump—despite its long history as a Democratic stronghold.
Political tempers have flared over Madison Square Garden, as both Hillary Clinton and actress Ellen Barkin recently took aim at the iconic venue for hosting former President Donald Trump’s latest rally. Clinton launched into a critique of the arena, recalling a pre-WWII event held there, but appeared to overlook that she and her husband celebrated their 1992 Democratic National Convention in the same space. In fact, Madison Square Garden has hosted the Democratic convention more often than any other venue, underscoring Clinton’s past reliance on its platform.
Ellen Barkin, a Hollywood actress and outspoken Trump critic, went a step further, calling for a boycott of Madison Square Garden, despite its status as the home of the New York Knicks and Rangers. Barkin also leaned into the left's “Nazi rally” narrative, even suggesting—without evidence—that Trump plans to round up Americans and place them in concentration camps. Her remarks echoed a smear promoted by several prominent Democrats, including Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz and even the Kamala Harris campaign.
Ironically, Sunday’s rally saw Jews in visible attendance, from Orthodox to Hasidic individuals, underscoring the broad and diverse support Trump received that night. Barkin’s demand for a boycott and Clinton’s sudden disdain for a venue with deep Democratic roots reveal a selective outrage that seems more about Trump than the arena itself.
