Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed Vice President Kamala Harris on *Hannity*, accusing her of politicizing Hurricane Milton preparations, saying, "She’s never contributed anything to storm efforts" during her time in office.
On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sharply criticized Vice President Kamala Harris during an appearance on Fox News’ *Hannity*, accusing her of politicizing Florida’s storm preparations as Category 5 Hurricane Milton approached the state. DeSantis was responding to Harris's earlier comments, in which she had called the governor "selfish" for his handling of the crisis.
“For Kamala Harris to try to say that my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional,” DeSantis said. “She has no role in this. In fact, she’s been vice president for three-and-a-half years, and she’s never contributed anything to storm efforts under this administration.”
DeSantis emphasized that his priority was the safety of Floridians and dismissed Harris's involvement as a political move tied to her struggling presidential campaign. “She’s the first who is trying to politicize this storm, and she’s doing that just because of her campaign. She knows she is doing poorly,” he said.
The governor reiterated that he is in direct contact with President Biden and FEMA to coordinate the state’s response, adding that he has successfully managed disaster efforts under both the Trump and Biden administrations. “I’ve got people whose lives are on the line,” DeSantis said. “I’m not worried about playing her political games. She is being selfish by trying to blunder into this when we’re working just fine.”
As Florida braces for Hurricane Milton, DeSantis made it clear his focus remains on protecting the state’s residents, while dismissing Harris's involvement as unnecessary and politically motivated.
