Dems Have No Answer For Why Harris Has Not Already Acted to Fight Inflation

On CNN’s "The Source," Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey could not explain why Vice President Kamala Harris has not acted to fight inflation, asserting that Harris will continue to lead and advocate for key issues as she campaigns for the 2024 presidential race.

On Friday's broadcast of CNN's "The Source," Massachusetts Governor and Harris Campaign Surrogate Maura Healey defended Vice President Kamala Harris against criticism that she has failed to address inflation during her tenure. Healey emphasized that Harris will "continue to lead as Vice President" and will "be out there talking about the things she’s going to do for people" as she campaigns for the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket.

Host Kaitlan Collins raised a question about Harris’s recent remarks on issues like a more secure border, inflation, and rising housing prices. Collins noted some critics' responses questioning why Harris, as the sitting Vice President, has not taken more action on these issues rather than simply discussing what she would do as president.

Healey responded by shifting blame for the lack of immigration reform to Congress, stating, "The fault’s really with Congress on this one. They’re the ones who did not act, and they did not act because Republicans in Congress, once again, bowed down to Trump." She continued by affirming Harris’s leadership alongside President Biden and emphasized the importance of the upcoming election.

"We don’t have many days, many weeks to go, Kaitlan," Healey said. "Every day, I know she’s going to be out there talking about the things that she’s going to do for people. And again, whether you’re talking about health care or reproductive freedom, whether you’re talking about middle-class tax cuts, whether you’re talking about increasing housing, these are things that most Americans support and want, they’re the things that Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz are offering."
