Democrats’ Weakness On Israel Is Prolonging War In The Middle East

Top Points:

  1. Democrat Weakness Prolongs Conflict: The indecisive and weak stance of Democrat leaders, exemplified by Vice President Kamala Harris, has prolonged the Israel-Hamas war by failing to fully support Israel against terrorist threats, instead focusing on appeasement and misleading narratives.

  2. Israel's Decisive Action: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's leadership and Israel's recent aggressive actions against key terrorist figures demonstrate the necessity of a strong military response to effectively dismantle terror networks and protect Israeli and American interests.

  3. Call for Strong U.S. Support: For peace and security to be achieved, the United States must firmly back Israel's efforts to eradicate terror organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, ensuring that diplomatic solutions do not allow these groups to continue their violent activities.

The suffering and chaos of recent months could have been avoided if Israel had received unwavering support from the start. The stark contrast in approaches between key political figures has only highlighted this ongoing issue.

On July 24, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the American public and their government representatives from the esteemed floor of Congress. He vividly recounted the horrific events of Oct. 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, committing heinous acts of kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder against over 1,200 Israelis. This brutal attack shattered the existing ceasefire agreement and sparked the current conflict.

Netanyahu emphasized how Iran, the state sponsor of terrorism, orchestrates violence in the Middle East through its proxies to destabilize Israel and her Western allies, particularly the United States. While American terror sympathizers desecrated the American flag near the Capitol, Netanyahu thanked the American people and sought continued global support to defeat this existential threat once and for all.

In stark contrast, Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee, delivered a speech after meeting with Netanyahu that starkly diverged from his message. While briefly acknowledging Israel's right to self-defense, Harris launched into an attack on Israel, attempting to appease the left wing of the Democrat Party. She blamed Israel for the "human suffering in Gaza" and echoed misleading UN claims about child deaths and "food insecurity," omitting any mention of Hamas' responsibility in perpetuating Palestinian suffering.

Harris ignored Hamas' notorious strategy of embedding operatives within civilian areas and using human shields to provoke Israeli defensive actions. She suggested that Israel was to blame for the stalled ceasefire and hostage negotiations, overlooking the fact that they are dealing with a terrorist organization notorious for prioritizing survival over peace.

Netanyahu's message was clear: the threat from an Iranian-backed terror group like Hamas must be decisively crushed. In contrast, Harris' calls for de-escalation from both sides only serve the interests of Hamas. The consequences of this misguided approach were evident just days later.

On Saturday, a Hezbollah-fired missile hit the Israeli-Druze town of Majdal Shams, killing 12 children and severely injuring 15 more. Since October 7, emboldened by Hamas and Iran, Hezbollah has launched numerous rocket attacks into northern Israel, forcing around 60,000 Israelis to flee their homes. Despite this, the United States has urged Israel to exercise restraint and pursue diplomacy.

Diplomacy alone is not a solution; it is a tool to achieve outcomes. If diplomacy with terror organizations results in their continued existence and leaves hostages in captivity and Israelis unable to return home, it is not a victory. The current administration's exclusive focus on diplomacy has emboldened Iran and its proxies, harming U.S. interests both regionally and globally.

Despite the administration's cautious approach, Israel has recently taken decisive action. On Tuesday, an Israeli airstrike in Beirut eliminated Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah's top military commander. Shukr was responsible for numerous terror operations and civilian deaths, including the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings that killed 241 American servicemen.

Additionally, Iranian state media announced the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, though Israel has not confirmed involvement. Haniyeh, a key figure in Hamas' terror operations, had believed himself untouchable. Israel's recent actions demonstrate a shift towards a more aggressive stance against its enemies.

In Gaza, Israel's comprehensive strategy to cut off weapons from Sinai and dismantle Hamas' infrastructure has rendered the terror group unable to launch further attacks. This success was not achieved through shaky diplomatic solutions but through decisive military action.

The suffering of recent months could have been avoided if Israel had been supported in eradicating genocidal terror organizations from the start. Israel is winning the battle against its enemies and those of America, and all they ask for is our support from afar. Thousands of lives could have been saved if pressure had been placed on Hamas to surrender, return hostages, and demilitarize Gaza. Twelve innocent children might still be alive if Israel had been empowered to defeat Hezbollah months ago.

Criticizing Israel for eliminating terrorists reflects a deep moral rot in society. When our leaders waver in their moral convictions, deterrence is lost, and calls for appeasement fall flat. It's time for the United States to back Israel in ending Iran's war on the West, allowing us to rebuild in peace and security.
