In a striking prediction, Democrat Senator Michael Bennet has suggested that former President Donald Trump could win the upcoming November election "by a landslide" if President Joe Biden remains the Democratic nominee. This statement highlights growing concerns within the Democratic Party about Biden's chances in the race.
Bennet, speaking to CNN's Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday, did not explicitly call for Biden to withdraw from the race but expressed serious doubts about Biden's ability to secure a victory. "Donald Trump is on track, I think, to win this election, and maybe win it by a landslide, and take with him the Senate and the House," Bennet told Collins. He is the first senator from his party to publicly voice such concerns following Biden's recent debate performance.
"For me, this isn't a question about polling," Bennet emphasized. "It's not a question about politics. It's a moral question about the future of our country."
Bennet warned that a Republican sweep, with Trump reclaiming the White House and the GOP taking control of both the Senate and the House, would be "an American tragedy." He stressed the gravity of the situation, stating, "The stakes could not be higher.
