Biden Beats Trump by 26 Points, in France

Biden performs well in polling in countries with socialist governments but not so well at home.

President Biden has found a place where he easily beat Donald Trump, France.

The global spotlight on the intense showdown between U.S. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump reveals a clear preference for Biden, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey.

In 34 nations surveyed, the data paints a stark picture: 43% of respondents express confidence in Biden's handling of global affairs, compared to a mere 28% for Trump. This disparity is particularly pronounced in Europe, where Biden enjoys a significant lead over Trump by at least 40 percentage points in countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and Sweden.

Yet, there are outliers. Eight nations show no statistically significant difference in ratings between Biden and Trump. Surprisingly, Hungary and Tunisia give Trump slightly better reviews than Biden, though neither leader receives notably high marks. (Notably, the survey was conducted prior to Trump's conviction in a state criminal trial in New York.)

Despite Biden's global edge over Trump, his ratings have dipped in 14 out of 21 countries compared to last year. This decline is especially noteworthy in countries like Australia, Israel, Japan, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, where ratings have dropped by double digits.
